We’ve all been there!
We enthusiastically started something, we jumped in with both feet, we didn’t assume it would be that difficult… and we wanted to quit!
Yes indeed, we’ve all been there… considering quitting when we realized that our journey would not be as easy as we first thought.
So if we’ve all considered quitting, what makes some of us quit, while others keep pushing through? Of course there are many opinions, theories, and philosophies that will attempt to explain the reasons why…
but I have 3 things you can do before you decide to quit anything.
1. REMEMBER WHY YOU STARTED!
If you’re thinking about quitting… think back to the beginning; the excitement, the joy, and the pride you felt about the decision you made to start a new. There is a reason why that person in the beginning wanted to make a change. Rediscover that change before you quit.
2. TRY A DIFFERENT APPROACH.
Maybe the reason you’re thinking about quitting, is because you’re going about it all wrong. Whether it’s taking a class, starting a business, or trying to get back in shape, if you’re frustrated enough to quit, it’s not that you don’t have what it takes… it’s just that you haven’t found the correct approach. Don’t quit… find someone who succeeded at what you want to do, and learn from their approach.
3. ENVISION THE REWARDS!!!
Before quitting what you started, remind yourself of all the benefits you will reap when you finish. The rewards are what made you begin in the first place. When you began to outgrow the person you were, and envisioned the person you wanted to become… you began your journey. Quitting will drag you back to the old you, and the old you will reap no rewards in life. Those who finish in life inherit the rewards! Those who quit, get nothing… regardless of how much work they’ve done. Don’t quit on yourself… reward yourself!
